How to sign up to EKAM

Sign up to the Advanced Rider Course with IAM Roadsmart by clicking the button below. Fill in East Kent Advanced Motorcyclists or our Group Number 2206 as your preferred group – otherwise you will be automatically assigned to the closest group by post code.

The course fee of £225 includes:

  • 1 year Associate Membership of IAM Roadsmart
  • A copy of the Advanced Rider Training logbook
  • The IAM Roadsmart test fee
  • 1 year subscribtion to the IAM Roadsmart Magazine
  • 1 year Associate Membership of EKAM (depending on the date of your enrolment, it will be a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 18 months)
  • Introduction to Advanced Motorcycling, half day classroom session followed by an observed ride and debrief
  • Slow Riding Course
  • Coaching by IMI qualified EKAM Observers using observed rides to bring your skills up to the level of the Advanced Rider Test
  • Access to the EKAM Social Events
  • Access to our Associate Rides, monthly group rides to test your skills with other associates in training and learn our group riding system
  • Monthly copies of eNews, our electronic newsletter

Please note:  A contribution of £20 is required to be paid for each observed ride to cover the cost of the observer’s fuel and running costs. This is to be paid directly to the observer at the time of each ride and is not included in the purchase cost of the Advanced Rider Course.

If you haven’t decided yet

Free Taster Ride: One of our National Observers will take you out on a ride where your riding will be assessed and you will be given advice on how to improve your riding. This is a great way to test our training for free to see if the Advanced Rider Course is for you.  Contact our Membership Secretary to book.

Taster Day: Includes our ITAM, a morning classroom session presenting the course Introduction to Advanced Motorcycling, and an observed ride with our IMI qualified National Observer who will assess your riding and give you feedback at a briefing after the ride. EKAM offer a Taster Day for £20, which is reimbursable against a purchased Advanced Rider Course if taken up during the same membership year.
